David Littman

David Littman received his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where he also obtained graduate degrees in counseling psychology and behavioral science. He is a member of the MDIC Board and is a previous Chair of the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar. He also serves on the CBA Ethics Committee. In 2015, he was appointed by Chief Justice Nancy Rice to the Colorado Supreme Court Standing Committee on Family Issues. He has emphasized family law in his practice, spending a significant portion of his time representing both parents and children in dissolution of marriage and custody matters. His education and training enable him to address complex mental health issues, substance abuse (addiction) issues, educational issues, domestic violence issues and certain medical issues that arise in the context of family law matters.
Earlier in his career, he handled a significant number of civil and criminal cases in state and federal courts, including 15-20 jury trials combined in both court systems. He served as a magistrate for just over ten years on a part-time basis, in Jefferson and Denver Counties.
He has strong experience in highly conflicted dissolution matters, including those involving allegations of sexual abuse. He frequently serves as an Arbitrator, Mediator or Decision-maker in divorce and parental responsibility cases. He has been serving as parenting coordinator and decision-maker since these roles were created. He has substantial state court jury trial experience in representing victims of sexual abuse and abuse of trust, personal injuries, and medical malpractice. He previously served as Child and Family Investigator in 350-400 cases. He is accepting appointments as a Parenting Coordinator, Decision Maker, Mediator, Arbitrator (Pre and Post-Decree), Child Legal Representative, in addition to working with his clients to resolve issues and keep them out of court.
